ESEA Invite Season 12 is now past the half way point and it's time to take a look at how teams are faring in both Counter-Strike 1.6 and the newer version Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Counter-Strike 1.6 has been two time defending champions Area51, with a slightly revamped roster as they are missing both Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert and Braxton "swag" Pierce, plummet down to a 3-5 record, losing more out of their first eight games than in the last two seasons combined.
Currently in the lead is Amazing Online who barely missed out on the LAN finals last season, with former EG and coL duo Derek "dboorN" Boorn and Andrew "Irukandji" Timmerman's A Group Of Good Friends trailing in close second.
Everyone else is fairly even, with last season's fourth place finishers High Rollers Gaming currently in third, closely followed by second placers Ultimax Gaming, ttb, 5-6th placers sapphirekelownadotcom and three newcomers Modus, Death Clutch and esk.
Over in this season's new title CS:GO, North American ESWC qualifier winners Area51 are currently sharing the top spot with the team they defeated in the semi-finals two weeks ago in Seattle, hold mouse1.
Next four teams are all tied at six wins with Dynamic, Dont Trust Anyone, Team4Not GO and Ultimax Gaming all two wins ahead of the next contenders FrostGaming and sapphirekelownadotcom.
ESEA will be hosting LAN finals for both Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with prize pots likely offering $10,000 for winners in both, as it was what both 1.6 and Source offered in the past seasons.
